Cuneo hosts Barcelona’s “Gabriel García Márquez” Library

READING FORWARD. DIALOGHI SULLA BIBLIOTECA, the first meeting to reflect on Cuneo’s future Civic Library and explore the themes of the city’s bid for Italian Book Capital 2025, at the Salone d’Onore of Cuneo Town Hall.
Guest of honour: Neus Castellano Tudela, director of Barcelona’s “Gabriel García Márquez” Library, awarded the “World’s Best Public Library 2023” prize.

The event, conceived and organised by the Municipality of Cuneo and Fondazione Artea, with the support of Banca di Caraglio, anticipates and prepares a series of subsequent conferences to understand the role and new identities of libraries in relation to the present and future challenges, in management, enhancement and development processes – including territorial ones – applicable to these spaces.

During the day, the contents of Cuneo’s bid dossier for Italian Book Capital 2025 will be highlighted, with the aim of building a vision for the new civic library at the Santa Croce hub, a cultural space for the future of the provincial capital and its territory.

The Monday 25 November event marks the first step towards creating a programme of meetings involving national and international guests, including directors of the world’s most important and significant public libraries, to share their experiences with experts, institutions and anyone interested in the topic.
